Boston Seaport Engagement Session–Nickerson and Bates

Dark skies, thunder, lightning, and pouring rain don’t exactly make for perfect picture weather…unless you’re Julie and Chris. Julie and I quickly became friends the day we meet at Simmons College’s summer orientation, and it didn’t take long until I met Chris, too. It seems that all throughout college Julie and I discussed the day that she would be engaged, and last summer it finally happened! Check out their full story on The Knot!

Not too long after Chris popped the question, Julie and Chris asked if I could take engagement pictures in Boston–yes!–and document their rehearsal dinner–double yes! For months, we’ve been talking about taking pictures in the Seaport, and this past May we finally picked the date. Both Julie and I checked the weather and noticed a chance of rain, but it seemed that it would clear up before our early morning start time. Hint: the rain did not clear up by our start time.

Instead of starting pictures on time, we opted to don umbrellas and dodge as many rain drops as possible as we scurried to the South Street Diner for an impromptu breakfast. Fortunately, as we neared the end of our meal, the rain did stop, and we were able to capture some pretty amazing shots that captured the unforgettable memories we made that day (make sure to look for Dillon below) and Julie and Chris’ love for each other.

Julie and Chris, thank you for being our “long term friends” and incredibly flexible during our photo shoot. Your ability to go with the flow truly paid of! We love working with adventurous couples! To everyone else, please enjoy this dreamy Seaport shoot. If anyone else wants to brave an early morning session with the possibility of rain, let me know!
