When I tell you that Eliza and Ryan’s The Knob engagement session was a highlight of my summer, let me ensure you that I’m not exaggerating!
Ryan and Eliza drove all the way to Cape Cod from New Hampshire–talk about dedication! In the past few months, I’ve learned all about their love story, and it’s just so incredibly sweet.
Eliza and Ryan actually met in social studies class when they were only fourteen. They are true, old-soul high school sweethearts. And they are just so in love! They actually scheduled their consultation call with me before they were officially engaged! But that’s how confident Eliza and Ryan are that they are ready to be married to each other. I just love that these two are so intentional with creating the life that they want to live together already!
When Eliza and Ryan were planning their The Knob engagement session, they knew that they wanted to do their engagement photos on Cape Cod and in Falmouth. If you’ve ever been to Falmouth, I’m sure you can understand the appeal. The picturesque beaches, amazing ocean sunlight, and quintessential little neighborhoods seem too beautiful to be real.
But The Knob is so tucked away that even though Eliza and Ryan are familiar with Cape Cod they forgot all about it. I’ve had my own photos done at The Knob, so I was more than happy to suggest it. I’ve been dying for a chance to go back! After remembering that such a beautiful little spot exists, Ryan and Eliza knew that they had to have a The Knob engagement session for themselves!
The Knob has a little harbor area filled with boats, as you’ll see in the images below. It also has a little side beach that not everyone knows about. I love this section since it helps add even more variety to a session! And then, of course, there’s the beautiful knob reaching out into the sea. The stone-lined causeway decked out in glowy sunset light cannot be beat for the perfect backdrop!
One tricky aspect of a The Knob engagement session is that parking is extremely limited. There are about 10 spots near the trail entrance, and perhaps 10-15 more a while back if you’re willing to do some extra walking.
Since The Knob is so beautiful, lots of people love to show up to watch the sun sink into the ocean. I personally recommend showing up at least an hour and a half before sunset if you want to make sure you get a parking spot. While Eliza, Ryan, and I were walking back to the cars for them to change outfits, I saw several cars turned away by the security guard since there just wasn’t any more room for parking.
We had our session in peak Cape Cod summer season, and we were still able to get parking spots with that little planning hack!
Before you scroll through all of these beautiful engagement photos, a few final thoughts:
To Eliza and Ryan, thank you so much for trusting me to be your wedding photographer! I loved getting to know you both during our time together, and I’m already counting down the days until your wedding next September. I’m so excited and honored that I get to capture your love story!
To everyone else, please enjoy! I absolutely love all things Cape Cod, so if you have any questions or comments about a The Knob engagement session, or any other type of session, just let me know!
