Chaos & Vacation Dreams

It’s officially fall! Now here’s hoping that peak foliage lines up with my mini sessions! 🤞

What I’ve Been Up To:

Weddings, weddings, and more weddings! I just wrapped up the biggest push of my season, and I’m grateful. I love being part of each and every love story, but a girl needs to sleep!

This year my busy season truly condensed down into 7 weeks where I did 10 out of my 19 weddings. If you could have only seen my crazy organizational notes trying to keep everything in order! There were two weekends I essentially lived out of my car, but it was all worth it!

I have so much work to share on my journal over the next few months, so get excited!

On a personal note, we attended our church’s annual getaway to a little island on Lake Winnipesaukee. We had the best time! The natural beauty of the lake paired with the tiny cottages that are only a few feet away from the shoreline is unmatched.

A little break in all the busyness also made me so much more excited for our upcoming family vacation in December! After Thanksgiving we’re flying down to Puerto Rico for a southern Caribbean cruise. I’m sure as my excitement grows you’ll hear even more during these monthly updates!

What I’ve Been Reading:

Honestly… not much! I

‘m struggling to make my way through The Great Reclamation by Rachel Heng. I’m not quite sure if it’s because I’ve been so busy and therefore extra tired whenever I do reach for my ereader, or if it’s because this book truly isn’t my cup of tea.

You’ll have to wait for my monthly book reviews to drop on my Instagram to see where I land. The book isn’t terrible; I know that I’ll finish it. But I’m not convinced that I’ll love it.

What I’ve Been Watching:

I’m a bit slow on the uptake, but I’ve just started Emily in Paris. I love the short episode length. I’ve always loved Paris! So this is super fun. I’m only a few episodes in on season 1, so I don’t have any final opinions yet.

I’m still dutifully following along with Big Brother 26. I had a minor depression when the houseguests evicted Tucker. I know that it was the right thing strategically, but he’s been my favorite player to watch in ages. Perhaps since I watched season 10 with Dan Gheesling?! (Although Tucker is NO strategic match for Dan). I rarely get super attached to the players, and I was under Tucker’s spell. I can only hope he gets called on for Reindeer Games or another season. He’s so chaotic.

Despite Tucker going home, it’s been a great season. Keeping Angela until the jury phase is the gift that just keeps on giving. The cast overall has been great to watch. I love their brand of crazy. This might be my favorite season of modern Big Brother, so that’s saying something!

Right now there’s so much that I want to watch and so little time. 😂 Definitely a Champagne problem to have. I don’t really like to watch TV every night, so it can take a while to get to everything on my list. The Great British Baking Show is just coming back, a new season of Call the Midwife is on Netflix, there’s football, loads of new true crime on Netflix… I could go on!

I’ve never understood people that say they don’t like TV shows. Maybe it’s the English nerd in me… after all, TV is just another form of storytelling. And I love a good story. If you’re making your way through your own to watch list, let me know!

What I’m Excited About:

October still has some new work projects, but I’m also excited for a healthier work life balance this month!

-Visiting our family’s church for their harvest festival. They’ve been hosting a family friendly fall event for the past few years, and it’s always a lot of fun!

Boston Lights at the Franklin Park Zoo. We’ve never been before, but our kids love Christmas lights, so this seemed like a great thing to try!

-Our parenting class for Habits of the Household. Our church is hosting a small group for those that want to work on spiritual habits in their homes. After a busy summer, it’s so nice to back in intentional community with my friends!

-Seeing Simone Biles on her GOAT tour with my friend, Jess. I cannot express how excited I am to see the queen herself. I will probably cry.

-A wedding for the best couple at The Colonial Hotel

-A senior portrait session with the kindest senior girl…just wait until you see the idea and story behind her session!

-My fall mini sessions! If you sign up for my newsletter before the October edition gets sent out you can still sign up for one of the remaining slots! And even if you sign up for my newsletter late, just send me an email. I can hook you up with the goods. 😂😉

-A family session for my wonderful cousins!

I hope you have an amazing month! Let me know what you’re up to. I always love hearing from you!
