Hoarding Points & Bucking The System

By the time this goes live, I should’ve just survived airport security. I hope to be waiting on a Starbucks cold brew, paid with hoarded points since I despise airport uncharges, and the system can be thwarted with careful planning.

Let’s get in to this month’s update!

What I’ve Been Up To

April was an absolute whirlwind! I must be getting older because I’m still trying to recover from this month. It might take me awhile!

My brother and my new sister-in-law had the most epic Washington D.C. wedding you could hope for! We had an amazing time, and I’m so happy for them. I’m also insanely proud of how their pictures turned out.

Right now I’m holding onto the images because their planner and I have some big goals for them, but I can’t wait to show them off later in the year. I promise the wait will be worth it!

We also celebrated with family friends at their wedding. We saw a few snowflakes (yes, in April–thanks, New England!) but it was another amazing celebration.

I’ve also been filming some new content for heirloom albums. I’m so grateful to my past clients and their willingness to help me out on this new adventure! The picture above is the dessert one of my past brides made for me. They tasted even better than they look!

Last weekend we celebrated Easter with my mom’s side of the family, and this weekend we’re attending Breakthrough! If you read last month, you’ve heard all about it already. I’ll leave those that are still curious to click the link if they want to learn more, haha.

But we’ll be on possibly the most gorgeous farm in existence, working on deepening our marriage with over 20 other dedicated couples. It’s a dream! You should absolutely join us next year.

What I’ve Been Reading

On the plane ride today, I’m planning to begin The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. I have no idea if it’s good, and unfortunately my last read was a bit of a bust, so I don’t have a recent fiction recommendation right now.

I am in the middle of reading Essentialism by Greg McKeown for business professional development, and I do recommend this one.

I’m more than halfway through, and it’s a convicting read about making sure you’re focusing on only the essentials. This applies to business, but even if you aren’t running your little brand, it’s a great read for anyone since the takeaways are relevant to all areas of life.

What I’ve Been Watching

If you’re new here, you’ll quickly learn that I am always years behind on just about every great book, TV show, or movie with a few minor exceptions. I hardly watch anything right when it airs, so you’ll have to forgive me for once again being behind the times. 😂

Dillon and I are now on season 2 of Only Murders in the Building, and if you love true crime podcasts, this is such a fun watch! The comedy is good, the story is engaging, and the constant rotation of stars is so fun to keep up with.

It’s tropey, but I don’t mind it one bit.

I’m also still plodding along with Gossip Girl. Between traveling and some sickness after our D.C. trip, I haven’t been walking as much as I would like, so my watch time has dwindled. But I’m hoping for a strong comeback in May.

I’m currently on season 4, and I feel my interested flagging a bit. I’m still going to finish the series, but I find myself asking, “oh, we’re still doing this plot line?” quite a bit. The crazy indulgence of the Upper East Side was fun for quite some time, but I think the writers are losing their way and relying on old tricks far too much. I’m hoping things turn around as the series winds down.

What I’m Excited For:

Things are picking up, and I can’t wait to capture more with my camera this month!

-Second photographing a Boston wedding with my dear friend Stephanie. We’ve already partnered up once earlier this year for an intimate winter wedding, but this will be our first full wedding of the season. I can’t wait!

-Mother’s Day! I don’t have solidified plans just yet, but I’m hoping to try the new Bodhi Spa in Norwood at some point as part of my celebration.

-A bridal shower for one of my amazing friends!

-A surprise proposal! No other details to help keep things a secret 🤐♥️

-A family portrait session at Borderland State Park

-At some point in month capturing newborn photos for my “long term” aka best friend Julie. I can’t wait for her little boy to be here, and I’m so honored I get to freeze and preserve his newborn memories.

-Memorial Day weekend! Again, still finalizing plans, but I know it will be a great day.

-Second photographing an Acoaxet Club wedding!

Until next time,

Christine
