It’s been a while, and I still cannot get over the stunning nature Yan and Adam’s Larz Anderson Park wedding! Let me tell you more about this amazing couple.
What happens when both the bride and groom’s customized, pre-written vows tell all of the same stories? The whole audience melts as they watch two soulmates permanently join their lives. Yan Chen and Adam Huang regaled their guests with stories about Adam hitchhiking throughout the Northeast just to get back to Yan for her birthday, Adam braving Boston snow and ice to clear off her car before work, and Yan adjusting her demanding work hours as a PA just to see Adam.
In addition to their beautiful vows, Yan and Adam artfully blended their Chinese and American cultures throughout their wedding day. They wanted to embrace the natural beauty of their home, which is why they picked the gorgeous and historic Larz Anderson Park, located in Brookline, MA. With a gorgeous tempietto draped in their wedding colors and florals for their backdrop, these two had a golden hour wedding ceremony. After the nuptials, everyone headed to Joyful Garden, an authentic Chinese restaurant in Watertown, MA. There, Yan and Adam honored their parents, extended families, and guests by making sure that each and every one of their guests had a picture with them. This is a time-honored tradition for Chinese weddings. Yan and Adam’s dedication to the ones they love evidenced themselves in these moments, as most couples don’t take pictures with 220 guests.
After spending time with their guests, Yan and Adam hosted a 10 course dinner for everyone to enjoy. In between courses their MC entertained guests with games, invited family members up to share toasts, and curated the special first dances to round out the evening.
Don’t let the idea of a public park fool you. You’re about to see just the gorgeous beauty of Yan and Adam’s Larz Anderson Park wedding. They worked on simply enhancing the evident beauty of their surroundings. Adding beautiful florals and blush draping transformed the setting. It was so easy to forget that we were minutes outside of Boston. Looking at the decked out tempietto in golden hour felt divinely Mediterranean.
If you’re wanting to have your own Larz Anderson Park wedding, I would say the lighting is key. Schedule your ceremony so that your guests end the ceremony in golden hour, which will also allow you to sneak in your wedding portraits during perfect light. The light paired with Renaissance inspired architecture created the secret sauce for what you’re about to see.
To Yan and Adam, thank you so, so much for trusting me with your memories. It was my absolute honor to capture both your engagement session and Larz Anderson Park wedding. I know that your devotion to one another is the best foundation for your new marriage. If you hold true to that faithfulness you already have for one another, you two will do so much good together.
To everyone else, thanks for reading! You’re about to see one of my favorite weddings of the year. You won’t be disappointed!
