Lobster Rolls and Cape Cod Summer

Welcome back! I’m so excited to catch up with you!

What I’ve Been Up To:

Busy season truly arrived this month. 😅

I love what I do, and, at the same time, when I first get busy again it’s always a rough adjustment. It’s just like starting to work out again after an extended break. You love it, but you feel sore.

My schedule is a little unique this year. The end of April through the end of June is packed. I still have work in July and August, but right now, the calendar looks very manageable.

And then in September and October I’ll be fighting for my life. But it’s the absolute best time of the year to be outside in New England, so I’m excited about it.

There will be a lot of absolutely stunning work coming out soon, so the journal, my Instagram, and my newsletter will certainly be the places to be!

One of the projects from the past few weeks was a styled shoot with the Cape Cod planner Shelby of Wedding by Weir. I loved collaborating with her and some other amazing vendors. And, we had so much fun connecting on a human level. I’m currently editing this gallery, so I’ll be sharing that next.

And when this personal update posts, I’ll be at an absolutely stunning Wychmere wedding for one of my lovely couples, Taylor and Griffin. They had the epic hydrangea engagement photos from last year. I can’t wait to share their sneak peek once they’ve had a look themselves!

On the personal side of things, we’re two days away from fully wrapping up Redlen’s homeschool preschool year. Our kindergarten plans are set for next school year, and it’s actually insane that he’s already this old!

I’m also so proud of all the work he put in this school year. Before last fall, we weren’t on much of a schedule. So I knew he’d need to practice to get ready for school, and I do think he’s going to have an amazing school year!

What I’m Reading:

Someone recommended I read The Debt by Angela Hunt, and I’m a few chapters in so far.

The main character is Emma Rose, the wife of a televangelist. She has a big secret that’s pretty quickly revealed. I know what her secret is at this point in the story, but those closest to her don’t yet. I’m sure the fallout will be coming soon, and I’m intrigued to see where the story goes.

What I’m Watching:

I’ve picked up with season 5 of Emily in Paris.

I love the French aesthetic, but I am getting bored of this show, if I’m being honest. It’s my current laundry and walking show, so it fits the bill there.

I’ve also seen that season 6 will be the final one. I’m already this far in, so I think I’ll finish. But I also think I’ll complain along the way!

What I’m Excited About:

I can’t say this enough: if you don’t take a few moments to look at the calendar coming up and get excited for what’s coming, you really need to try it! This is one of my quickest and most fulfilling little rituals on my calendar.

-Officially wrapping up homeschool preschool! We have a field trip and a celebration day left, and both will be awesome!

-A Lake Pearl wedding.

-A Publick House wedding. This couple is so sweet, and they have so many surprises planned throughout the day. I’m looking forward to the guest reactions all day long!

-Dillon and I will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary! We don’t have big plans yet since we’re going on vacation at the end of the month, but I’m sure we’ll do something small to mark the day.

-My sister-in-law’s baby shower!

-A wedding for one of my couples that booked me back in 2024! They’re getting married at The Artisan at Tuscan Village. I can’t wait to celebrate with them!

-A Church Landing wedding. I love Lake Winnipesaukee after attending our church’s annual retreat up there in September, so it’s always fun making the trip up!

-Father’s Day. I’m excited to celebrate Dillon a little extra.

-Engagement photos for the cutest couple! I’ve known the groom since he was a baby. Calling him a groom makes me feel ancient.

-Our Martha’s Vineyard vacation!!! I help so many people have an amazing New England summer every year. And now I’m the one taking full advantage of the beauty of my home state. I think I just might have a lobster roll and ice cream every single day.

Until next time,
