Does anyone else feel like we can’t possibly be halfway through the year?
A little bit of everything! May is typically when work starts totally pick back up for me, and this year is no different.
This month, I captured weddings, a proposal, a newborn session, and a family session. Getting back outside in the sunshine and celebrating love stories still feels new each and every time. I’m grateful for the “work” I get to do!
I also launched my first ever album sale, which I’m so excited about! After seeing the true power of seeing people hold their memories, I want everyone to have one! You’ll have to check out one of the reaction videos I documented during an album reveal with a past couple. If you were on the fence about the important of albums, this will convince you!
All albums are 30% off until June 22, 2025. If you want one, now is the perfect time! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
On another note, with the warmer weather my kids and I started visiting Davis Farmland again. We have season passes, so we try to go pretty often. On our last visit there was a baby goat that just wanted to sit down and be cuddled. I know we technically go for the kids, but mine had to encourage me several times to leave that goat’s side! There’s something so peaceful about sitting in the sunshine with the animals.
I tend to get stuck in my to-do list, so spending a whole day on play is the best ever reset for me. My kids have fun, too. 😂
I’m nearing the end of The Breakup Pact by Emma Lord. It’s cute, and probably a worthwhile beach read, but it’s not the best romance I’ve read this year. In fact, earlier this month I read The Getaway List, also by Emma Lord, and it was so adorable I shed very real tears.
Since I haven’t had the same reaction to The Breakup Pact, I can’t fully recommend it. But in all fairness, I still need to wrap up the story.
If you like cute YA romances, Emma Lord is totally your girl. My all-time favorite by her is Begin Again. It’s a story about Andie, a college freshman attending the same college her mom did, where she hopes to work on the same radio show her mom made famous. Andie’s been playing small for a long time, doing what her boyfriend Connor wants to do. In typical bildungsroman fashion, she’s finally striking out on her own, finding herself, and letting the sweetest romance unfurl along the way. Typing all of this out makes me want to read it all over again–so add it to your beach read pile!
We’re still chugging along with Only Murders in the Building and Gossip Girl. I’m on season 3 and season 5, respectively. Dillon and I are still very much enjoying Only Murders. Season 4 of Gossip Girl dragged on and on, but the finale did make me cry. It felt like the end of an era, and it’s giving me the motivation to finish the series.
As always, June is a busy month!
-A maternity session with one of my past engagement and wedding couples. We’re heading to my favorite beach spot, Wingaersheek Beach! It’s magic every time, and I can’t wait to see what we create!
-Our church’s 50th celebration. I’m volunteering to photograph the event, and I can’t wait to see the event! They’ve been planning for over a year, so it’s going to be big!
-Dillon and I are going away for a long weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! Despite my love affair with Cape Cod, neither one of us has ever hopped on the ferry over to Nantucket. We’re finally remedying this, and I can’t wait to have my toes in the sand for a few days with nothing to do but relax. I’m pretty sure a lobster roll is already calling my name!
-A Newport family session! I don’t photograph in Newport as frequently, so this is an exciting trip!
-My friend Stephanie’s welcome party and wedding. Stephanie and I first found each other through photography, and now she’s one of my closest friends. I’m so, so excited to celebrate her. And to see her walk down the aisle in her amazing dress. The cell phone pictures cannot be doing it justice, so I have high expectations!
I always love hearing what you’re up to, so please share with me! And if you’re wanting an album–the time is NOW!! 😊
