What a Legacy Looks Like | North Shore Maternity Photographer

There’s a unique kind of honor in being invited to photograph a couple through multiple seasons of life. As a North Shore maternity photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do.

I first met Danelle and Tyler during their engagement session in downtown Newburyport. We enjoyed a day full of soft light, gentle laughter, and the kind of ease that makes you feel like you’ve known someone forever. From there, I had the privilege of capturing their wedding day. And ,somewhere along the way, I also photographed Tyler’s younger sister for her senior portraits.

So when they reached out to me again—this time, for their maternity session at Wingaersheek Beach—it felt less like booking a shoot and more like reuniting with family.

As a North Shore maternity photographer, I return to Wingaersheek Beach often. It’s a favorite for so many reasons. I love the way the light dances across the water at sunset, the wide open skies, the long stretch of sand that always feels a little bit like a blank page.

But this session with Danelle and Tyler was anything but blank—it was layered with meaning.

They’ve since moved out of state, which made their decision to come back and include me in this next chapter all the more special. It’s not lost on me what it means to be chosen again, especially for a moment as intimate and meaningful as this one.

We met on the sand just before sunset, the sky slowly melting into those soft purples and pinks that feel like a love letter from the universe. I couldn’t help but notice—half in awe, half in disbelief—that the tones in the sky almost perfectly matched the ones from their engagement session years ago. Different beach, different season of life, but somehow… the same quiet magic.

They brought tiny shoes—the ones their little girl will wear someday. They brought a sonogram image that already has a place of honor in their hearts. And most of all, they brought the same tender love they’ve always had for each other, now deepened by the anticipation of parenthood.
