I’m so excited to catch up with you!

When this journal entry posts, I should be over 10,000 feet in the sky and just beyond Cape Cod. Dillon and I are on our way to Breakthrough, the marriage retreat that our coach hosts every year. We love it so much, and I’m grateful that we get to go back. Special shout out to my mom for watching our kids and helping us do this!
I’ll save the full recap for next month since we haven’t actually experienced it, yet.
This past month we enjoyed observing Holy Week and Easter as a family. As the kids grow older and ask more questions, this season of the year becomes sweeter and more powerful.
I covered an amazing proposal at Duxbury Beach. If you look at the photos, they feel like summer. Reality was that I wore a winter coat with eyes watering and hands burning (I can’t photograph super well in gloves, so I just skip them when workings). But this session gave me a taste of what’s coming in the warmer months, and I’m even more excited than before!
I’ve been adding work to my calendar and still chipping away at my off season goals. I have a few more office sessions of work left, and then I think it will be on to my official busy season list. It’s written and posted where I can see it every day. The challenge is now to actually get it done!

I just started Come Find Me by Megan Miranda. For the last few years, I’ve been slowly making my way through Megan Miranda’s back catalogue. This is my last one!
I enjoy her more recent work, and I do think she does well with her Y.A. work. Some of her earlier novels weren’t my favorites, but I like her writing enough that I wanted to read it all.
I’m only on the second chapter, so far too early to have an opinions yet. It looks like the supernatural and paranormal will be a big focus for this story, which can always be fun. I don’t mind a bit of sci fi and fantasy every now and then.
I always share all of my book reviews on my Instagram, but my Fable and Goodreads accounts see them first if you’re interested. I really want more people to start using Fable so that I can ditch Goodreads. If you’re interested, sign up!!

I’m not afraid to admit that Traitors season 4 altered my brain chemistry.
I’ve enjoyed every season, and until I started season 4, I would’ve said season 3 is the wildest. But season 4? This is when Traitors stopped being my laundry show because I needed to be able to focus on every second. It was unhinged, dramatic, engrossing, and the most fun I’ve had watching a TV show in as long as I can remember.
I talked one of my friends into giving it a shot, and she is now just as obsessed as I am. I’m telling you–watch season 4 if you want a wild ride. I don’t care if you’re not a big reality tv fan. It’s engaging enough to get you anyway.
Dillon and I also just started All Her Fault. I think I’m going to like it. We’re not that far into the season, but it has a super strong hook. If you like true crime, it should be an instant hit for you, too.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: if you’re not looking at the upcoming month and getting excited for what’s to come, you should really start. This little 2 minute ritual adds so much joy to my life!
-More acupuncture. I did 3 sessions recently, and my jaw pain as well as other parts of my health saw dramatic improvements. Have I used the word dramatic a lot in this journal? Yes. But I mean it every time, so I’m not apologizing. I’m telling you, acupuncture is a must try. If you want to know more, just let me know, and I’ll talk your ear off.
-My mom is graduating with her masters degree! I’m excited to cheer her on.
-Mother’s Day. Everyone loves being celebrated, hah! Dillon and I bought ourselves a new projector for our home theater, so that is our combined Mother’s/Father’s Day and anniversary presents (and then some, because that things was expensive! 😅). Fortunately, we love it. And I know the day will still be a lot of fun.
-A Wequasset wedding
-Wrapping up my photography class and English class with the homeschool co-op I taught at this year. I’m definitely ready for summer, and I’m grateful that I got my teaching fill again after many years off.
-Drone photographing a wedding at Castle Hill at the Crane Estate. It’s going to be gorgeous.
-A stunning Wychmere wedding for an amazing couple I started working with last year. They had the Chatham Bars Inn hydrangea photos. If you know, you know! Their session got a lot of love, and people are still reaching out to me asking all sorts of questions about those florals. I cannot wait to celebrate them this year!
-A beautiful Cape Cod engagement session. I’m going to be on the Cape a lot this month! I’m ready for all of the sand in my toes.
-Memorial Day
-A family photo session, also on the Cape. I don’t do a ton of these, but a few sneak on to my calendar every year.
Let me know what you’re up to this month as well!
Until next time,
Christine
