Kailyn and Brent’s Pleasant Valley Country Club wedding will definitely be one for the ages!
I know that I’m their sister in law, but I don’t think that’s the only reason I teared up a few times throughout this special day. The love and commitment that Kailyn and Brent have for one another is just obvious. You’ll see the complete adoration on both of their faces during their first look and portraits. And watching Brent’s emotions wash over his face as Kailyn walked down the aisle with her father? Don’t even get me started! I had to use some deep breathing techniques so that I could avoid crying and keep documenting their beautiful ceremony.
Each thoughtful detail throughout their wedding day, whether it be their intentional ceremony that mirrors their faith or their beautiful first dance song selection, it’s evident that Kailyn and Brent desire for their marriage to be impactful. They want an amazing lifelong love, but they also want to honor Jesus. I’m so excited that I get to keep my front row seat of their marriage throughout their time together! It’s always an honor as a wedding photographer to get to capture the birth of a marriage and family during a wedding day, but it’s much rarer for me to continue to see what comes next.
And, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t point out the power of a first look on this wedding day. Once the reception kicked off, there were torrential downpours and even a tornado warning! Thanks to the first look time, we were able to complete bride and groom portraits, wedding party pictures, and family formals all before the ceremony. We bumped up the ceremony time by almost 20 minutes (thank you on time guests!) and also moved Kailyn and Brent’s sunset portrait time up to cocktail hour once it became clear we wouldn’t have a sunset. If we were trying to do all of this after the ceremony, the blog, and much more importantly their final gallery, wouldn’t be this beautiful!! Spend your full wedding day with the one you love, and add in a little insurance to make sure you get the images you long for! It’s not selfish or petty; these images will be viewed by Kailyn and Brent’s grandchildren. Can you imagine not having these memories to hold on to? I sure can’t!
To Kailyn and Brent, thank you for inviting me into your wedding day in this extra special way! It’s rare that someone is a bridesmaid and photographer, and I’m grateful that you trusted me with the responsibility to do both. To everyone else, enjoy this amazing Pleasant Valley Country Club wedding!
