Ashley and JJ’s The Coonamessett wedding brought together all the best parts of fall! With an abundance of navy and bold splashes of red ranunculus florals, their color palette just felt like Cape Cod fall.
Let me tell you a story.
All throughout Ashley and JJ’s wedding day, I couldn’t help but smile to myself. JJ isn’t a big fan of pictures. He’s polite about it–he doesn’t grumble or complain. But let’s just say that JJ’s perfect day would not include getting his picture taken.
And then we have Ashley. Ashley has a tight-knit community with her family and friends, and she wants each and every memory captured. This is why we get along! I love capturing the birth of a family on a wedding day, so I love all of the same moments.
JJ stood through picture after picture, but not like a bump on a log. Instead of growing frustrated, JJ actually relaxed into taking pictures throughout the night. He even initiated a few photos before we wrapped up for the night. Why? Because he loves Ashley.
These two are amazing partners for each other. You could just see it by the way JJ treated his bride, and by the way Ashley would look right back at JJ with that twinkle in her eye.
I was absolutely honored to be part of Ashley and JJ’s The Coonamessett wedding. I loved meeting their families, hearing their stories, and capturing their love story for future generations to look back on.
This was my first The Coonamessett wedding experience, and I love this little inn! When I met Ashley at the beginning of the day, I found her in an all white bridal suite. That’s one of the ways to get to this photographer’s heart. The bridal suite has a major impact on the overall feel of your getting ready photos, so having white walls and windows (The Coonamessett has both!) is key!
I also appreciated that The Coonamessett has an amazing rain plan. After watching the radar and fighting the cold during portraits, Ashley and JJ opted to move their ceremony indoors.
With less than 30 minutes before the ceremony start time, The Coonamessett staff created a beautiful ceremony setup. The ballroom has a huge wall of windows plus white walls…and you already know how I feel about that!
To Ashley and JJ, thank you so much for choosing me to curate your engagement and wedding memories. You guys are so laid back, sweet, and caring. I know that your family will do amazing things in this world. I’m cheering for you both!
To everyone else, enjoy this stunning The Coonamessett wedding! The colors scream fall, and they’ll have you yearning to drive over the bridge and take in the coast before the colors are all gone.
