Gloucester Engagement Session | Rachel and Joel

A collage of couple photos at a Gloucester beach, including standing, hugging, and walking barefoot in the sand and water.

Rachel and Joel’s Gloucester engagement session made me fall in love with Wingaersheek Beach in a whole new way! I’m sure their cute love story helped, too. 😊

Rachel and Joel

Rachel and Joel are actually brand new to Massachusetts. They transplanted here from Michigan so that they could commute to Boston. Talk about a huge culture shock!

These two actually went to high school together. While they didn’t start dating then, they reconnected not long after.

Clearly, they have a strong sense of adventure since they moved half way across the country together! Rachel and Joel are also finalizing plans to get married in Crete next spring, which will be more amazing than it already sounds.

It’s also clear that they will be the best of partners together. It felt like I barely had to instruct them as they’re already so sweet and loving towards each other. They even gave me the standard line about being awkward in front of the camera, which just isn’t true!

I’m cheering for these two as they start their new lives together. Boston is a huge change from literally everywhere else, but it’s worth it!

A Gloucester Engagement Session

For those that follow along, you already know that I’m in love with this spot in Gloucester. In fact, I actually have an entry all about why it’s the perfect spot for engagement photos here!

I normally walk my couples to the far end of the beach and work my way back, but I had a bit of a squirrel brain moment.

When I met Rachel and Joel, we did a few quick sets of poses before I got completely distracted by a puddle.

If you’re over here scratching your head in confusion, you’ll see what I mean when you scroll through these images. Turns out, a puddle at a Gloucester beach is absolutely perfect for fun and unique compositions!

After the puddle pictures–so much more romantic than they sound–we headed towards a cove that I didn’t even know existed.

I honestly love shooting at a new place since it gets my creativity flowing. So, to have that new place experience at a beloved Gloucester spot was the best of both worlds!

And finally…

To Rachel and Joel, thank you so much for trusting me with your engagement memories. I will never take that lightly; it’s an honor to be involved capturing your love story.

Enjoy all that Boston has to offer! We’ll turn you into Pats/Celtics/Bruins/Sox fans in no time.

To everyone else, enjoy these gorgeous Gloucester engagement pictures! This session is a new favorite for me!
