February 2024

Can you believe that we’re already through two months of the year?! 2024 is already flying by!

What I’ve been up to

Today is actually the first day of my family vacation–our first big one as a family of 4!

We’ve been talking about this vacation for what feels like forever. And, all month we’ve been getting more and more excited!

This month I also doubled up on some work so that I can truly unplug while we’re away. You’ll have to come read my personal blog in March to get the full deep dive on everything!

On a separate note, I wanted to share that I started supporting a little girl in Haiti through the organization Compassion International.

Each time I book a wedding, I set aside some money for charitable giving. By donation a monthly pledge, the little girl I support gets more access to food, clean water, church services, education, and medical care.

After doing some research, including listening to the story of a woman that grew up as a Compassion child in the Philippines as well as checking to make sure that the majority of my donation goes straight to supporting the child, I felt comfortable choosing this as my cause.

Just know that every time you support me you’re also supporting a little girl out there. 💕

What I’ve been reading

I’m currently reading Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson. I’m only halfway through, so I can’t decide how I’m feeling. It’s a unique tale, focusing on several different characters, all in the same family, throughout different points in their lives. The time periods jump around a lot, so the story is told in a nonlinear fashion. That being said, the story is easy to follow.

I always share book reviews each month on my Instagram and save them to a highlight, so you’ll have to take a peek to see what I end up thinking!

I’ve also started reading not one but two whole nonfiction books. This is huge for me. I don’t love nonfiction, but I do try to push myself to read some each year. I’m reading The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan with Dillon. I also just started The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. Some of my mom friends have read it/are also reading it, and we hope to talk about it soon.

What I’ve been watching

You guys, I’m still watching season 2 of Big Brother. We’ve just made it to the halfway point, and you guys, something shocking has happened.

If you read last month, you couldn’t have missed my complaining about Dr. Will. Without spoiling a season that happened 23 years ago…after a certain person was eliminated…my opinions vastly changed. I actually might like Dr. Will now?

Each episode is a new shock since I loathed the man for a decent chunk of the show. Maybe he’s so good at manipulation that he’s manipulating me from the past? I don’t know.

Today is our travel day…first time flying with two toddlers. Wish us luck!

Until next time,

Christine
